About my Jean-Pierre Rampal Record Collection

I am an amateur Flutist and Rampal has always been one of my favorite artists and a source of inspiration. It was after listening to his Bach Sonatas record, many years ago, that I decided to take on playing the flute. Over the years my old LP records gave way to CDs and were given away. Few years ago I wanted to get the Bach Sonatas LP record that got me started so I started to look for it in old records stores and on the Internet (Ebay etc..). While looking I found some other records that I use to have and before I knew it the collection grew to about 200 records. This collection is a great source for Rampal's legacy, flute repertoire history, joy and inspiration. The collection is a work in progress. It is not complete yet and probably will never be. I started to digitize the records so I can preserve them on CDs. I also would like to have pictures of the record envelope and sound clips on the web site but these projects require time and will have to wait for now. I hope this blog will be useful for comments and discussion regarding Rampal's recording and this collection.
